This page details our first meshtastic node purchase, based on the Heltec v1.1 Wireless Tracker

Antenna must be connected before powering up device (or risk burning out radio)
Battery connector may not be correct polarity, check before connecting
Antenna connector has a limited number of insertions (10-50) before it wears out!!

Currently working on a 3d printed OpenSCAD model

Case features:

(mostly?) unobstructed USB C port
exposed screen (>2mm bezel step, may taper later)
holes for buttons (with possible external button extensions)
Antenna port on opposite end from usb port, oriented so it points up when screen is landscape
battery enclosure
- possible hinged back plate to minimize battery wire yanking on open
- possible tpu shock mounting for battery

Future features:

rotary encoder mount location, maybe under antenna
possible on/off switch
mounts for internal accessories
- piezeo speaker?
- cell phone buzzer motor
- barometer
- neopixel strip

These parts lists are preliminary and overlap. Not all parts are required. Some parts may require firmware changes.

Notes:

rotary encoder doesn't have an easy way to mount it, comes with 16mm knob
neopixel strip probably works best with a translucent case, although this could be a separate part
