SD PCB CERT
Welcome!![edit]
Hello All Eager Senior Design Students,
This page is for those interested in learning to utilize the T-Tech Quick Circuit 5000 PCB prototyping machine and the Metcal QX2 Convection Rework station for surface mount soldering. In order to expedite things, and also to provide some extra resources to everyone, I have set up a google group for this equipment. I ask that you sign up to this group in order to schedule a training or certification session. Also, please make sure that you are able to receive email from this group - set up a mail filter if you have to... SD_PCB_CERT@googlegroups.com.
This group is used for announcements to all who use the equipment. Additionally, feel free to use this group to help each other out with PCB layout software (we are not able to train you for this). Most importantly, this group will be used for scheduling purposes. If there is a training session, a PCB Milling machine certification, or someone needs to block off time to utilize the machine, it will be announced here. This will help to make sure the room is available when it is needed for certifications et cetera.
And now for the good stuff. Time to join the group. Below is a set of questions you will need to answer. When you go to the group website to sign up, you will be given a place to cut and paste these questions, along with your answers. Myself or someone else from the UCFARC who will be able to help out will review your answers to help schedule your first training and or certification session depending. There is a training video available.
So, answer the questions in the spaces provided. DO NOT REMOVE THE HTML TAGS. When you have your responses ready, follow these instructions:
- go to http://groups.google.com/group/SD_PCB_CERT
- click the link to "Join this group" towards the top
- Choose any of the email options, except No Email. I repeat. DO NOT CHOOSE NO EMAIL.
- Type your name in the nickname box.
- Cut and paste your questions and answers into the box on the bottom.
- Click the magic button that says "Apply to this group"
- Wait for a response from myself or one of the other trainers -- we will approve your membership and let you know within 24 hours as to what to expect for a training/certification timeframe
Thank you for your patience and adherence to this procedure,
-John Szilagyi,
