Winter field day 2010

This is our preparation page for potential participation in Winter Field Day, January 30 and 31, 2010

Info

• Time: Jan 30 Saturday 10am - Jan 31 Sunday noon
• Location: Engineering 1 Room 456A (inside Room 456 in the back)
• What: Winter field day

Stations

We're shooting for two stations, both voice at least one digital

• TS-2000, 706 and IC-7-something(not sure of model)
• Battery or Mains?
• Do we have mics?
• Second laptop
• Psk macros
• Logging plan
• Tuners

• New Vertical (high bands?)
  • 10m, 15m, 20m
• Windom (40-80)
  • may need rope
• Hamsticks (should consider a high band if we change it)
• VHF Yagi

Shifts

We will have shifts this time so we can maintain coverage throughout the night and early morning without going sleepy sleepy during key times. 8 sets of 3 hour shifts with three people to man the stations. Feel free to add your callsign after the times you wish to work. We'd like a minimum of two people per shift, one for each station. (More would be better.) Especially for the late shifts, make sure you schedule sleep for yourself, so that you aren't falling asleep on your shift!
